Programme Overview

This course provides a forward-looking overview of how Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) considerations are integrated into investment strategies, with a focus on the needs and contexts of family offices. It explores key ESG frameworks, regulatory developments, and sustainability trends across sectors and regions. 

 

Participants will learn how to interpret ESG data, evaluate material issues, and apply ESG strategies across public and private markets—including venture capital, impact investing, and nature-based solutions. Through case studies and assessments, the course equips family office professionals with the tools to assess ESG risks and opportunities, support portfolio alignment with sustainability targets, and position for long-term resilience and performance in an evolving investment landscape.

By the end of this module, participants will be able to

  • Understand family’s values and mission, and objectives for legacy planning.
  • Gain an overview of the tax and legal structures and the tools for wealth transition.

This programme is pending accreditation by The Institute of Banking and Finance (IBF). Upon accreditation, Singaporeans and Permanent Residents are eligible for enhanced funding support of up to 70% course fee subsidy under the IBF Standard Training Scheme (IBF-STS), subject to all eligibility criteria being met.

 

Participants are advised to assess the suitability of the course and its relevance to his/her business activities or job roles. 


The IBF-STS is available to eligible entities and individuals based on the prevalent funding eligibility, quantum and caps.  IBF-STS provides up to 70% course fee subsidy support for direct training costs subject to a cap of S$3,000 per candidate per course subject to all eligibility criteria being met.

This course addresses the following Technical Skills and Competencies (TSCs) and proficiency level:

  • Sustainable Investment Management PL4
  • Environment and Social Governance PL3

 

Participants are encouraged to access the IBF MySkills Portfolio (https://www.ibf.org.sg/home/for-individuals/resource-tools/myskills-portfolio) to track their training progress and skills acquisition against the Skills Framework for Financial Services. You can apply for IBF Certification after fulfilling the required number of Technical Skills and Competencies (TSCs) for the selected job role.

Any discrepancies in registration details or failure to meet minimum IBF academic requirements will result in an unsuccessful IBF reimbursement claim and students will be liable for the full tuition fees. Eligible SG citizens may utilise SkillsFuture Credit to offset course fees. This is only applicable for the regular SkillsFuture Credit, and not applicable for the SkillsFuture Credit (Mid-Career) additional top-up funding.
