The Certified Affluent Banker (CAB) programme aims to equip affluent bankers with the advanced skills and knowledge required to effectively manage and grow the wealth of affluent and high-net-worth individuals. Through a comprehensive and application-based curriculum, participants will gain hands-on experience in personalised wealth management strategies, sophisticated investment solutions, and exceptional client relationship management.
By the end of the programme, participants will be proficient in delivering tailored financial advice, ensuring client satisfaction, and driving sustainable growth in the affluent banking sector.
Wealth Management for Affluent Clients
This module establishes participants’ understanding of the affluent banking landscape, covering the paradigm shift client advisors experience when transitioning from retail to affluent banking. Participants will master client profiling techniques, regulatory compliance requirements including AML/KYC/EDD, and develop sophisticated account management strategies. The module emphasises building growth mindsets and understanding the unique characteristics, needs, and behaviours of affluent client segments across different cultural and generational contexts necessary to engage HNW clients.

Financial Planning & Advisory
Focused on comprehensive financial needs analysis, this module equips participants with advanced skills in client profiling, asset-liability analysis, and holistic financial planning. Participants learn to conduct thorough cash flow assessments, evaluate protection and retirement needs, and develop tailored insurance and investment solutions. The module emphasises the wealth advisory process and principles of risk management, ensuring participants can deliver sophisticated financial planning services that align with affluent clients’ complex financial situations.

Investment Portfolio Advisory
This module develops participants’ expertise in investment strategy and portfolio management for affluent clients. The course covers tactical portfolio construction, fundamental and macroeconomic analysis, and comprehensive understanding of various asset classes including equities, bonds, alternative investments, and structured products. Participants will gain proficiency in risk-return analysis, portfolio theory, and performance measurement, enabling them to provide sophisticated investment advisory services and construct optimised portfolios aligned with client objectives.

Sales Strategies for Affluent Advisers
The capstone module focuses on relationship excellence and strategic client engagement throughout the affluent client journey. Participants develop advanced communication skills, personal branding techniques, and relationship management strategies. The module covers pre-meeting preparation, effective client onboarding, portfolio review processes, and leveraging technology for enhanced client service. Emphasis is placed on building trust, managing client expectations, and delivering exceptional service experiences that drive long-term client satisfaction and business growth.

Accreditation
Course is currently pending accreditation.
This course has been accredited under the Skills Framework for Financial Services and is eligible for funding under the IBF Standards Training Scheme (IBF-STS), subject to all eligibility criteria being met.
Participants are advised to assess the suitability of the course and its relevance to his/her business activities or job roles.
The IBF-STS is available to eligible entities and individuals based on the prevalent funding eligibility, quantum and caps. IBF-STS provides up to 70% course fee subsidy support for direct training costs subject to a cap of S3,000 per candidate per course subject to all eligibility criteria being met.

You can apply for IBF Certification after fulfilling the required number of Technical Skills and Competencies (TSCs) for the selected job role.

In addition to Course Fees, each participant will also be charged a non-refundable and non-claimable application fee of S$85 (including GST).
This programme is pending accreditation by the Institute of Banking and Finance (IBF). When accredited, Singaporeans and Permanent Residents will be eligible for funding support of up to 70% course fee subsidy under the IBF Standards Training Scheme (IBF-STS).
Fees shown are after IBF-STS funding. Subsidised fees apply upon participants’ successful completion of the programme, which includes (i) fulfilling minimum attendance requirements and (ii) passing all relevant assessments.
