Philanthropy Guide - Issue 03
This Guide is the third in the series of the Wealth Management Institute’s (WMI) philanthropy guides, as part of the Impact Philanthropy Partnership (IPP), a joint initiative with the Private Banking Industry Group, supported by the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
This issue’s focus is on helping you immerse into the world of catalytic philanthropy, climate change and sustainability through a starter guide. First, it explores the key themes within giving in the sustainability space, offering readers the need-to-know on the latest trends and highlights to kickstart one’s journey.
This is followed by introducing the idea of catalytic philanthropy, an approach that provides an active role for the philanthropist to give beyond writing the cheque, and how it becomes an important catalyst for sustainable and impactful giving.
The final part builds on the climate change and sustainability theme to introduce the issue of greenwashing and impact washing. It offers readers an intuitive guide to identifying and mitigating them through a checklist, helping readers to design their impact more effectively.
Together, these topics serve as a great way to prepare oneself for the world of sustainability and climate change mitigation or adaptation. Doing so enables you to join us in being part of the solution for more sustainable futures.
