Programme Overview

The Advanced Certificate in Philanthropy and Social takes a deep-dive into the philanthropic advisory practice across Asia. Analyse global and regional philanthropic trends and learn about the giving behaviours of high-net-worth families and giving opportunities across various capital allocation types.

 

This programme is curated by professionals for professionals to serve family offices and ultra high net worth (UHNW) in building and implementing a robust philanthropic strategies that spans across the region.

 

With the completion of the 3-day IBF accredited Advanced Certification programme, you will graduate as a WMI-Certified Impact Philanthropy Professional – which will give you the qualifications, resources and competencies to strategise, implement, and measure the impact of philanthropic goals.

 

Emerge with the skill sets, tools and connections you need to advise clients in building an effective and outcomes-driven philanthropic plan and portfolio.

Programme Structure

This is an advanced programme that builds on an initial 2-day course, “Certificate in Philanthropy and Social Impact”.

 

In these 3 days, there will be 2 days of classroom teaching and 1 day of group activities.

 

Completion of the Certificate in Philanthropy and Social Impact is required prior to taking the Advanced Certificate in Philanthropy and Social Impact.

 

To be a Certified Impact Philanthropy Professional, participants must complete the two mandatory courses.

Accreditation

This programme is pending accreditation by The Institute of Banking and Finance (IBF). Upon accreditation, Singaporeans and Permanent Residents are eligible for enhanced funding support of up to 70% course fee subsidy under the IBF Standard Training Scheme (IBF-STS), subject to all eligibility criteria being met.

Participants are advised to assess the suitability of the programme and its relevance to his/her business activities or job roles.

The IBF-STS is available to eligible entities and individuals based on the prevalent funding eligibility, quantum and caps.  IBF-STS provides up to 70% course fee subsidy support for direct training costs subject to a cap of S3,000 per candidate per course subject to all eligibility criteria being met.

Upon completion, participants will be:

  • Eligible for 24 IBF-STS CPD hours
  • A WMI Certified Philanthropy Professional

 

About IBF Certification
This programme addresses the following Technical Skills and Competencies (TSCs) and proficiency level:

  • Philanthropy Advisory PL4
  • Ethical Culture PL3

Participants are encouraged to access the IBF MySkills Portfolio to track their training progress and skills acquisition against the Skills Framework for Financial Services. You can apply for IBF Certification after fulfilling the required number of Technical Skills and Competencies (TSCs) for the selected job role.

1 For Singaporeans aged 40 and above, you are eligible to utilise the SkillsFuture Credit (Mid-Career) further to offset your course fee after the IBF subsidy.

The fees listed above are after IBF-STS funding. Please note that there is a funding cap of $3,000. Any discrepancies in registration details or failure to meet minimum IBF academic requirements will result in an unsuccessful IBF reimbursement claim and students will be liable for the full tuition fees. The Asia Centre for Changemakers has launched a scholarship for eligible Singaporeans/PR and overseas learners who represent non-profit organisations and social enterprises. This scholarship provides eligible learners with partial funding to help alleviate the costs of our philanthropy-related programmes. Eligible SG citizens may utilise SkillsFuture Credit to offset course fees. This is only applicable for the regular SkillsFuture Credit, and not applicable for the SkillsFuture Credit (Mid-Career) additional top-up funding.

 

The Union Training Assistance Programme (UTAP) is a training benefit for NTUC members/ NTUC Starter members to defray their cost of training. NTUC members can enjoy 50% course fee support for up to S$250 each year when you sign up for courses supported under UTAP. NTUC members aged 40 and above will get increased funding support from S$250 to S$500.
